1996 Rio graduate and Phyz student extraordinaire Susan Crown went on to Cornell University. There, she double-majored in biology and chemistry and graduated in the top 1% of her class. This made her a Merrill Scholar. As such, she was asked to name a faculty member and a high school teacher who influenced her academic aspirations. Susan named me and Cornell hosted me (and other Merrill Scholar honored teachers) for a reception and convocation. After that, I snuck up to Rochester for a visit with Mary and Bryce.
